We have converted this older 9ac. farm into our base of operations for R-8. Located just outside of Asheville in the Smoky Mts. of Western North Carolina. At this base we have offices, crew quarters, cooking facilities, maintenance facilities and plenty of room to expand. The zoning in NC allows us to use this location commercially.

During the Mandatory Availability Period we normally keep enough vehicles for 2 20 Person Type 2 Initial Attack Crews. We use this base for dispatching crews, local hiring, training, maintaining an inventory of fire clothing and equipment.
